In this article, I’ll be rounding up all the latest infomation about “The Cursed Child.” Essentially, this will be everything you need to know about Harry Potter 8.

Harry Potter 8 will be in the form of a play called “The Cursed Child.” A book will also be published, written by J.K Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. You can pre-order it here, and it will be released on July 31st 2016. (Harry and Jo’s birthday!)

The Cursed Child- Parts I & II

This is a summary of the book and play:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

It will be split into two parts, and features Harry, Ron and Hermione. The play is scheduled to premier on June the 7, 2016 at West End’s Palace Theatre in London.

(above: Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Paul Thornley. They will be playing Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.)

Many people noted Hermione was being played by a black actress but Jo responded that it has never been stated in the books that Hermione is white.

Emma also had something to say about Noma playing Hermione:

Isn’t it lovely when everyone supports each other? c:

Now, if you’re excited as me, here is a tiny clip which you can hang on to until more information is released. In this video, Joanne takes us into the rehearsal room. Viewers take a small peak at what the play will bring. There a quick shots of the golden trio rehearsing with wands, and some Potterheads are wondering- will there be a duel scene?

Apparently, the play will also feature Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley, shown by this picture here, tweeted by J.K Rowling. If they’re designing wands, that must mean they’re including them, right?

Gosh, is anyone excited yet?
